Measure up

There's a wonderful program on tv over here called Outnumbered. It's about a family with 3 kids and one of the best things about it is that it's only semi-scripted, so the kid have a fair amount of free reign to take a topic whichever way they want. Anyway, there's an episode where the youngest one is talking to Gran about what 'size zero' means. And Gran reassures her that "A woman can be any size she wants to be" and Karen replies "What about a hexagon?".
There's a clip on youtube here and that conversation happens at around the one minute mark.

Anyway, I say all of that mostly just cos it amuses me, but also because I've been watching another program called 'Bulging Brides' where brides have a personal trainer and a nutritionist to help them lose inches and pounds to fit into their previously too small wedding dress and (I realise this is a very long run on sentence) one of the things they do is weigh them and analyse their body shape.

So I was thinking it might be a good thing to do that myself. I haven't done it yet, but I plan to measure myself (they did bust, waist and hips) and work out my body shape. Partly cos if you know your body shape you can dress better, but also cos when I measure myself again in a couple of months I can see how I've changed. You don't have to share the measurements here, but why not make a note of them?

Debs- this is a great idea. I have thought about doing measurements, but never actually took them. Going to have to do this. Thanks for the reminder!

Yeah, y'all should totally do that! I say "y'all" cause 1) I'm from TX and 2) I've already done mine!

From past experience I know that I rarely lose loads of weight, but I always lose inches. So I wanted proof that all this is not for naught and did my measurements. That way if the scale stops moving then I'd at least have another gauge to measure my weight loss with. Now, I'm no professional, so I hope I'm able to measure the same areas next month.

There's an AMAZING website I discovered. I've been meaning to write a post about it so y'all can check it out. I'll try to get that done this afternoon. You can track your weight loss, measurements, calorie intake, calories burned and much more. That's where I'm tracking my measurements.
