Shake your groove thang
Have you moved your body today? What'd ya do? If not, are you planning on it? Debs, I know you can't do any cardio with your ankle but have you thought about doing upper body stuff with some light weights? (I was just thinking about you that's why I ask...hope you don't mind)

Hi Tami! I was moving bright and early this a.m. I did some upper body weights and a spin class.
I went for a walk in the woods with my mum (Elly) and cycled into the centre of town for a choir rehearsal.
I've been thinking about that Tami, and I reckon I should give it a try.
I'm also going to talk to my physio friend tomorrow and possibly start getting back into some gentle walking on the treadmill
(I reckon it'll actually be safer than walking outside cos of uneven pavements and leaves and litter and all that!)
Debs,
How are you feeling these days? Has the illness you got once you left Texas finally cleared?
Well as Bekki said I walked in the woods with her. I also did supermarket food shopping and think I moved something awkwardly getting stuff out of the car because my back aches. Not helped by 2 1 hour car journeys to see Bekkki and get home again. Today was her actual birthday so wanted to have some quality mother/daughter time.
I ran this morning for about 30 minutes in the dark :-)
I wish I could run. I guess it would help if I liked it. Gosh, I wish I liked it. That's just not my exercise of choice...I just can't get into it. I think it's because I can't get my breathing down. Oh my gosh...I huff and puff after 1 minute!!!
I didn't do anything but try to help get rid of this sinus/cold deal I have going on today. Over the wknd I walked around 10 miles or so with the scouts. I certainly felt the burn yesterday night. I'm aiming to do atleast something tomorrow. :o)
I live about a mile away from my work and I don't drive, so I get about four miles of bike-riding a day (to work in the morning, back home for lunch, back to work, back home at the end of the day). I normally go to the gym after work on Mondays, but my right knee is bothering me so I skipped it and rode an extra mile.
Christina--I used to be exactly the same way. I just started with power walking and after a while ran a couple of blocks, then three, then 4, etc. Now I run 3 miles most days no problem. I could work up more but don't have time or inclination to at this stage of life.
I would wait until you have lost most of your weight (I don't know off-hand how much you have left) because the more spare weight, the harder on your joints.
"Jogging and Running for Dummies" is actually a really cool book for beginners. HTH!
